What was it about HI Design ASIA that made you decide to attend?
Hi-Design Asia is a new event for me and I wanted to try it as it has a pretty unique concept. It is a chance to spend two days with suppliers who have innovative products. I don’t normally get the chance to travel to meet with suppliers so to have two days dedicated to this out of my office is ideal. Making new contacts and having networking opportunities was very useful.
Tell me about any good meetings that you have had, and particular encounters in meetings or outside of them?
I have had a number of very productive meetings with suppliers, and especially one suppliers product who I think will be ideal for one of our current projects, a casino in Macau. A lot of inspiring new products have been bought to my attention.
What have you been able to achieve at HI Design ASIA? How has this been helpful to you?
I came to Hi-Design Asia with an open mind. It was hard work but has been a pleasure. It is an unstressed, laid back environment to speak with your peers and potential clients. The meeting schedule was intense and fast track, but I met some innovative suppliers and had a good time. There was a professional but friendly environment.
How is HI Design ASIA different to other events? What sets it apart from the traditional exhibition?
There is nothing like Hi-Design in Asia. At exhibitions you spend most of your time walking from hall to hall trying to get 5 minutes with the appropriate person, and mostly end up talking to someone who isn’t. The suppliers at Hi-Design Asia were very good. I also had the opportunity to network with many hotel operator/owners – the likes of Mandarin Oriental & Peninsula who are at the top of the food chain in hotel development.
Will you return to HI Design ASIA? Why?
Yes I will. It was a great event with fantastic networking opportunities, topped off at a great location
