Speaker: John H. Miller, General Manager, Design and Planning, Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd

John H. Miller is General Manager, Design and Planning, The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd, responsible for the management of the design and planning of Peninsula Hotel developments. This includes both new projects and renovations which extend from the initial site assessments of potential developments through the full pre-opening and opening of the Peninsula Hotels.

Born in Wisconsin with degrees in Architecture and Structural Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, John has held various architecture and project management positions in Skidmore Owings and Merrill – Chicago, Massachusetts General Hospital – Boston, and Welton Becket and BBG in New York.

John came to Hong Kong in 1987 and joined The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd in 1988 as Deputy Manager, Projects and was promoted to General Manager in January 2002.
