HI Design Asia 12 - Programme Confirmed.
And there are some changes...
27th July 2012

The programme for HD Asia 12 is confirmed. 2 big changes for this year: The Supplier Showcase is now condensed into a single session and the Buyer Networking session is now open to both Buyers and Suppliers. We changed them because the majority of you requested it last year. The Seminar Programme is also confirmed.
Before the event officially starts on the evening of 7th November, we have the optional Pre-Event Tour - always a great ice-breaker and really good fun. Please check it out.
Let's start with the seminars: once again, we deliver 4 compelling and entertaining sessions over the 2 business days.
Session 1 - TOPHOTELPROJECTS Asia Pipeline Report.
HI Design brings the project people together and this is where it starts: our Event Partners have the project info. at their fingertips to deliver a detailed, bang up-to-date overview of the confirmed major new build and refurb' projects in the region over the next 12 months and beyond. The session will be delivered by Rolf Schmidt, Managing Director of TOPHOTELPROJECTS. If you want to know who's investing, where and when, we suggest you get a good seat for this one.
Session 2 - The Last Resort?
A Discussion Panel focusing on 'responsible' resort design in Asia Pacific. With many of the most luxurious resorts in the world, Asia is home to a number of acclaimed eco-friendly properties, which have arguably set the standard for responsible resort design in environmentally sensitive areas. In the quest for developing ever more ‘exclusive’ resorts, is this eco-friendly responsibility being paid lip service? Who cares? Who's watching? Bali provides the ideal setting for this contentious and revealing discussion about resort design.
Our panellists are:
Guy Heywood, Chief Operating Officer, Alila Hotels & Resorts
Karlyn Cerdena, Director, ara Design Asia
Michael Duggan, General Manager, Sustainability, EC3 Global Pty. Ltd.
4th panellist TBC - Watch this space!
Session 3 - Keynote Speaker – TBC shortly
Session 4 - India – Hot and Spicy!
A Discussion Panel to provide some invaluable insight on how to do business in this rapidly growing economy.
Second only to China in the new hotel supply pipeline, India is a tantalising marketplace to explore but it comes complete with unique challenges that can sometimes prove insurmountable to investors, operators, architects and designers.
What are these challenges, and how does one begin to approach them? This is your opportunity to tap into the combined knowledge of two operators and two designers with extensive and ongoing experience in the country.
Panellists:-
Kingsley Amose, Senior Vice President Construction - Design & Technical Services, Accor Asia Pacific
Bobby Mukherji, Principal Architect and Founder, Bobby Mukherji & Associates
Carl Almeida, Partner, P49 Deesign
4th Panellist TBC - Watch this space!
You'll find the rest of the programme here. If you have any questions at all about the programme or how any other aspect of the event works, please just get in touch.
