Top 5 most significant new hotel openings for Asia Pacific 23rd July 2018

The Asia Pacific market is the fastest growing in the hospitality industry, both in terms of demand among tourists looking for accommodations and among properties rising to give those tourists more options.

As such, it can sometimes be overwhelming working to track all of the significant hotel openings taking place in the market, especially since the Asia Pacific region is also the largest in terms of sheer geographic sizing.

Still, some of the more prominent hotels bear watching for those who operate in the hospitality industry there. With that in mind, let’s take a look now at the top five most significant new hotel openings for the Asia Pacific region.

Hyatt Regency Clark

This hotel will mark the return of the Hyatt Regency Brand to the Philippines. Set to open in 2022, the Hyatt Regency Clark will be part of Donggwang Clark Corporation’s (DCC) 763.5-acre mixed use project, which has been dubbed the D’Heights Resort. It will be located in Clark, Philippines, which is less than 70 miles northwest of Metro Manila, and the hotel itself will have 350 rooms for guests.

Hotel Okura Tokyo (Top image)

The Okura Tokyo is slated to open for guests in September 2019, thereby replacing the reputed but aging Hotel Okura Tokyo. Like its predecessor, the new facility is slated to feature traditional Japanese beauty, as well as an emphasis on simplicity and elegance. It will feature a total of 508 luxury hotel rooms for guests, spread throughout two buildings in a Central Tokyo Okura property, all of which will be covered by lush gardens and greenery. It will begin to accept reservations in April 2019 for individuals, and in September 2018 for meetings, conferences and other exhibitions.

Ascott Harmony City Nantong

Ascott will mark its 20th year in China with the opening of Nantong’s first international-class serviced residence and its fourth overall property in Suzhou. The Ascott Harmony City Nantong will have a location near the financial hub bear the Nantong Railway Station, where residents can enjoy direct access to the metro interchange station. It is slated for completion in 2020.
