Luxury vs Sustainability – is it a compromise?
Marc joined HOK in October 2009 as Director of Interiors of the firm’s Singapore practice. Marc has over 19 years of professional experience in Asia, New Zealand and the UK on a wide variety of projects ranging from hospitality, residential, commercial, mixed-use, retail, transportation infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare and correctional facilities. His Asia portfolio combines a spectacular mix of successful projects in Hong Kong, China and the wider part of Asia Pacific including India and UAE, bringing a wealth of experience in the architectural and interior design profession. As Director of Interiors, Marc is responsible for the design quality and continuity throughout the process; and develops concepts in collaboration with consultants to best serve the client’s needs.
With sound management skills, Marc also oversees delivery of all HOK interior projects in the region to ensure design and service excellence. His approach to projects emphasizes employee involvement, powerful communication and effective facilitation and leadership.
Working in line with HOK’s commitment to sustainable design, Marc focuses on developing green development with an interdisciplinary approach hoping to create better live and work environments in Asia for now and for generations after.
Prior to joining HOK, Marc worked with Smallwood Reynolds Stewart Stewart (SRSS) in Singapore, working predominantly on hospitality projects, he owned and operated his own design practice in New Zealand and lived and worked in London, UK for 6 years after completing his education and early career development in Wellington, New Zealand.
With a diverse background within the design industry and having worked in various countries across the world, Marc brings significant knowledge and experiences together with innovative design ideas from his extensive experiences in various cultures.
